We have been to Madison before. But these days, the track personel are trying hard to improve the program. This track has a large population to draw from and if they can find unique ways to promote and run the show, it should do fine.
Our Tour guide for this race was none other than Kevin Ramsell, the Director of Public Relations for ASA Racing. He showed us around downtown Madison and we had lunch right next to a sculpture of a large Badger, the symbol of University of Wisconsin who's campus was nearby.
We talked about the high temperatures at State Park, but today the temps rose to 103 degrees. Many surrounding tracks closed down for the weekend due to the heat, but at Madison, the show went on. Luckily, once the sun went down, the temps dropped quickly.
We had a great time at MIS and looking back, the entertainment and the way the show was run was impressive. There was a decent number of spectators and racers and with a little ingenuity, this track should continue to grow its program.
