Just two years ago, Hawkeye Downs was truly down and out. The facility was in bad shape, the racers were fighting and out of control and it just was not working.
Then came along Mike Becker. He either rehabilitated or ran off the unruly racers who were causing problems and revitalized the racing at Hawkeye.
What we saw were happy racers, a great fan base and lots of other amenities that would help spell success for any track. This track located in Cedar Rapids, IA impressed us in a lot of ways. Look for a dedicated article coming out in CT about our visit.
