Grundy County Speedway is located inside the property of the local county fair grounds, and if you from this part of the country, that's no surprise. But we did get a surprise when we discovered that our Tour visit coincided with the first night of the Fair.
Grundy is a flat track and you've really got to have a handle on handling and bite off the corners to do well. We noticed that many of the cars were exceptionally well hooked up, even with the bump in turn two.
The racing was clean and the Fair seemed to help with attendance as the grandstands filled with a good number of spectators. The racing was challenging as the track had long straights where horsepower counted, and tight flat turns where chassis setup ruled. Some had both, but many had only one.
