Big names have raced at Kalamazoo Speedway and if you want to establish a name for yourself, you've got to do well here. And many have.
This night, the Bozell clan was racing and they are always hard to beat. The track is managed very well and for ontrack action verification, they have installed eight video cameras around the track to help make correct calls in the event of an altercation and to show the teams after the race is over what really did happen. It works great.
We got a front pit row seat with our bus parked right on the front stretch and saw some very experienced drivers do their magic with high side passing and inside moves to root out the slower drivers. It's a pretty thing when it's done right. One veteran once told me, when you do it right, they never know you loosened them up.
Next weekend its Grundy and the Dells Raceway Park as we move out of our almost lakeside KOA in Michigan and on through Illinois and up to Wisconsin where we will spend the next four weeks visiting the many great tracks located in and around that state.
