Back in our RV area of Scarborough, ME, our next race track was Beech Ridge, a very well known northeastern asphalt track where this weekend we would be fortunate to see a PASS series race where I met up with an old friend...
Jay Fogleman and I go back a ways to the late '90's or so. He said not to tell just how far or people would guess our ages. Jay is still competitive while running with most other racers young enough to be his kids.
And he is running very well now in hot battle for the championship of the PASS series, a uniquely organized group run by Tommy Mayberry and one that boasts drivers from the US and Canada.
This was a 300 lap race that tested the stamina of the drivers and the endurance of the race cars and engines. There were numerous lead changes and when the dust settled, the winner was the most consistent and aggressive among the group, just like we like it.
