Motordrome Speedway is another in a string of Nascar short tracks we have visited on this leg of our Tour. It is part of the Nascar Whelen All American Series of short track racing. It is a model for other tracks to follow...
Stan Laskey has been around the block in short track racing having managed the now defunct Jennerstown Speedway for years.
He is now running the show here and doing a fantastic job. The facilities are old, but well kept and the track meals, yes I said meals, are first rate.
When fans come from work on a Friday night to the races, they don't have time for dinner, so the track has a box meal prepared that rivals home cooking.
It is that attention to details that makes this track successful. And the racin' ain't bad either.
The car count was high, there were grandstands and pickup parking on both straights and best of all the racing was clean.
Despite close and very competitive racing in all of the divisions, there was not one racing incident all night. That is unheard of. My hat goes off to these respectful racers. They could teach many other drivers a thing or two about clean racing.
