You don't see many of these at short tracks, but it made it easy to traverse from the back pits and grandstands to the infield. But when the racing starts...
...the bridge closes. With the long straights, it makes it safe to install one of these bridges, you'd think. It was highly used by teams, fans and, well us.
But, in one race, a couple of sprint cars got tangled up and one ended up flipping and hittng this walkover. It put a good dent in it, but there was no structural damage and the walking continued.
