I grew up in Daytona Beach, mostly by accident. And racing soon became my passion. That reminds me...
I am reading the various accounts of the personalities that made Nascar what it is today in the new publication soon to hit the newsstands, Nascar's Best, written and compiled by Rob Fisher.
Editor Rob put his heart into a memorable look back at some of the many personalities that formed what we know as the Nascar Nation. And the stories are wonderful.
Compared to todays chilled down version of stock car racing, we get a feel for what the good ol' days were like with tales told by some of the participants about their friends and fellow competitors.
Don't miss this one. It will appeal to those inside and out of the sport. I personally have been fortunate to have been a witness inside since my early years wondering the pits at Daytona in the mid-'60's and thought I knew a lot. Not so, this is giving me a whole new perspective on many of the early racers and leaders of the sport.
