We are well underway for the second half of the AMSOIL Great American CT Tour and our first stop is Highland Rim, the track Bobby Hamilton, Jr. revived...
This track is so like many others across the US in that its participants and fans are very rural in residence and in character, and I like that.
Some might argue that this is too much of a rough track and it has a reputation, although Bobby is trying to turn that around, for a good number of fights throughout its history. But those who come enjoy every minute of it.
I was in Nashville at a repair shop getting some needed work done on the motorhome and was talking to the girl who worked there. I told her where we would be going on Saturday night and she lit up. "Oh, that's the track where I have been going with my whole family since I was 3 years old. We are the fourth turn gang and root for Toby Tobitt."
That is the way short tracks should be, a memorable experience for all those who come. And it was a memorable experience for Karen and I and I was once again reminded that all is well in America.
