It was looking like a run-away race for fast qualifier and "most laps led" racer Clay Rogers, but an overheating engine ended his night late in the race and allowed Caleb Holman to capture win number two. We saw some of his talent at Lonesome Pine Raceway on April 10th...

The late model race that ran during our April 10th Tour visit to Lonesome Pine Raceway was one of the best I've seen in some time. It pitted Caleb Holman, our winner on Saturday night at Hickory, against track champion Nate Monteith.
Rarely do we see side-by-side, lap after lap, racing these days, but it happened. It showed me that Caleb had the talent and determination to be a winner.
Although in this USARacing series race Clay was clearly dominant, Caleb had to contend with some serious competition to be in the position to win following Clay's departure. And that is what being a winner is all about, making the opportunities, not just hoping for them.
Congratulations to Caleb and his whole team for a job well done..again. This is one racer we'll have to keep an eye on.
