Vic Irvan, President and Co-Owner of Irvan-Smith, Inc. passed away last night (Sunday). Vic lost a hard fought battle with stomach cancer, after diagnosis earlier this year. Best known to NASCAR fans as the father of 1991 Daytona 500 champion Ernie Irvan, Vic Irvan was known throughout the circle track racing community as the President and Co-Owner of Irvan-Smith Inc. the 27 year old North Carolina based fabricating equipment and racing tool supply company. A press release from Irvan Smith Inc said, "This company was his pride and joy and as our leader and our commander he will be missed greatly." Indeed he will. On behalf of the whole Circle Track team our thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to the family and friends of Vic Irvan.
