Pocono, PA. (September 15, 2009)…..The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS), America’s premier motorsports series, returns to Pocono Raceway on their traditional weekends in 2010.
The Pocono 500 is set for June 4 - 6 and the Pennsylvania 500 is set for July 30 – August 1. A NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race has been added to the Pennsylvania 500 schedule and will be run on Saturday, July 31.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series features the country’s biggest names in motorsports, including: Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards as well as the 2009 Pocono 500 winner, Tony Stewart, and the 2009 Pennsylvania 500 winner, Denny Hamlin.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, which is new to Pocono Raceway, but consists of household names in the world of auto racing, including: Todd Bodine, Rick Crawford, Ron Hornaday, Jr. and Mike Skinner, is sure to put on a very competitive and exciting race on Pocono Raceway’s demanding 2.5 mile super speedway. NASCAR Sprint Cup regulars such as Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick frequent the Camping World Truck Series.
Completing both Pocono Raceway’s weekends of speed will be the rising stars of the ARCA Racing Series challenging Pocono Raceway’s “Tricky Triangle”.
