aDP Rivet program sports mid-season, IMCA track title awards
HARTFORD, Conn. (June 30) – Several hundred IMCA drivers will receive awards, based on mid-season or post-2009 point season point standings, from new sponsor aDP Rivet.
The Hartford, Conn., manufacturer is giving a bag of its Ultimate brand rivets to point leaders as of July 2 in local Modified, Late Model, Sprint Car, SportMod, Stock Car, Hobby Stock and Crate Model point races.
Track champions in the same divisions get the same prize after point totals become official in October.
“We’ve been making rivets for almost 30 years and marketing as aDP since 1995. We’ve been going to trade shows for years and IMCA is a name we’ve been hearing more and more,” company president Peter DePaola said. “Their members are hands-on drivers. They’ll recognize in two seconds that these are a much better product that what they’ve been using. They respect a quality rivet made right here in the U.S.
that works better than a foreign-made one ”
The Ultimate rivet was designed using first-hand input from the people who put them to the test at weekly race tracks.
“We race ourselves so we’re always in the pits, talking to drivers and crew members,” said DePaola, owner of the mini-stock Mustang campaigned on area asphalt ovals by Sean Caron. “Our Ultimate rivet does everything they want it to. These rivets don’t need backup washers, they fill oversized holes and the nail never sticks out the front.”
“A lot of people tell us they can’t get our rivet to fail,” he added.
“Once we get someone to buy our rivet, 98 percent of them become repeat customers.”
aDP also supplies rivets directly to manufacturers, among them The Joie of Seating, an IMCA sponsor since 2004.

"It is always great when we can reward our drivers with actual product and the program we put together with aDP does just that,”
IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “Racers can use the rivets now and be able to get their hands on more when they see them at Super Nationals this fall. We look forward to working with aDP in the years to come."
