Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to Make First Ever Appearance at Cleveland Speedway This Tuesday Night, June 16
CORONA, CA (June 15, 2009) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will make its first ever appearance this Tuesday Night, June 16th at the Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, TN for the Third Annual Car Smart Race for Juvenile Diabetes. There will be a complete show for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series with PRC Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains and the 40-lap $7,000 to win main event. For this special night there will be a car given away, rides around the speedway and much more. Also on the race card will be the Limited Late Models and A-Hobby Feature. The stop at Cleveland will be round number 3 of the 2009 Summer Sizzler Tour for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The first two rounds were held at Duck River Speedway in Wheel, TN where Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY won his first career LOLMDS main event; and on Friday Night at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA where Joe Armes of Petros, TN won his first series event of the year. Due to extreme thunderstorms in the area, the Saturday Night event at Talladega Short Track was postponed. Heading into Cleveland on Tuesday Night, the ultra-competitive LOLMDS has seen 13 different winners in the first 17 events held in '09. There are 15 drivers still maintaining perfect attendance, and 331 different racers have entered competition at least once this year. Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN still maintains the lead in the Lucas Oil Championship Points Standings ahead of Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN; 4-time series champion, Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC; and Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA. Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN leads the remainder of the top ten coming to Cleveland, ahead of Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN; Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY; Josh McGuire of Grayson, KY; and Eric Jacobsen of Seacliffe Beach, CA. John Blankenship of Williamson, WV leads the Quarter Master "Rookie of the Year" point's chase in front of Jeep VanWormer of Pinconning, MI; David Breazeale of Four Corners, MS; and Michael Walker of Franklin, TN. Car Smart of Cleveland [TN] has donated a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier that will be given away to a lucky fan on Tuesday Night. Other prizes to be given away include a tailgating gift pack from Coca-Cola, a set of tires from General Tire, three oil changes from Lucas Oil, tools from Cleveland Fasteners, a $50 gift certificate from Tom's Fuel Mart, and a window tint from Ronnie's Window Tinting. The winner of the Cavalier and other prizes will be chosen from a random drawing at the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Juvenile Diabetes race on Tuesday Night. You must be present at the event on Tuesday Night to win. The pit gates will be opening at 3 PM and the grandstand gates at 5 PM. Grandstand admission is $20.00 with kids 6 to 11 $3.00.
