Things are finally starting to come together for the team and we brought home our first top ten of the year.
I had never seen Langley Speedway before this weekend, and let me tell you the place is awesome! The track is extremely flat, but it creates such good racing because of how hard it is to pass. Our Circle Track Project car had a problem in qualifying and we decided to start from the rear of the field so that we could work on the car after qualifying. We found a loose ball joint in the left front which contributed to the vibration I felt during qualifying.
The problem was now we had to start last on the field where track position was going to be key. We fought all race long to gain that track position back but it was so difficult to pass that we would get stuck behind some slower cars and then the leaders would be on top of us. We were able to get the lucky dog a couple of times and the team battled back to get back on the lead lap. They also made adjustments on the car that ended up netting us our first top ten of the year. All in all, for never seeing the place before, we extremely pleased with the outcome. The car is in one piece and now we can make it better for the next race.
