The annual trek to Myrtle Beach for the USARacing stock cars happens this weekend. The action will be HOT as the temperatures will top 90 degrees. To say this is a tough race for the teams would be an understatement. Here's why....
First off, Myrtle Beach Speedway is fairly flat, has wide and long turns and in the summer gets really hot. Drivers have complained that tires don't last well here either. So, strategy seems to be the way to victory.
Our CT project car is scheduled to be here with Gibson Racings newly acquired crew chief, Jody Lavender. Jody races in the Nascar Camping World East series and is currently second in points having given up his lead this past race at Watkins Glenn.
Jody has a lot of experience in racing having competed for the past thirteen years in many varied divisions. I will be there to report on the teams progression at this difficult track. With John Gibsons patience and ability to stay out of trouble, I see a good chance at some much needed success.
