Lee County Speedway hosts Townsend Memorial June 19
DONNELLSON, Iowa (June 16) – IMCA Modifieds will race for $1,000 to win and a spot on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot at Lee County Speedway’s Doug Townsend Memorial this Friday, June 19.
IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods are also on the Fathers’ Day Weekend card at Donnellson. All fathers and their kids attending the races can buy hots dogs for just $1 on Dads and Dogs Night.
Pit gates and the grandstand will both open at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are
at 7 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
Pit passes are $20. Grandstand admission is $8 for adults, $5 for
students ages 11-17, and kids 10 and under get in free.

Townsend’s son Jeremy competes in the sanctioned division. Family
members contributed to the purse to up the winner’s share to $1,000.
PLUS...Hendrick Motorsports’ Cassill returning to Hogan Memorial IMCA Modified field
VINTON, Iowa (June 16) – Hendrick Motorsports driver and Nationwide Series rookie of the year Landon Cassill returns to the IMCA Modified field at Benton County Speedway’s Sunday, June 21 Hogan Memorial.
Cassill ran 10th in his career first outing on dirt at last year’s event. He’ll sign autographs, and probably pose for a picture or two, when he comes back to Vinton.
The Modified main event pays $1,200 to win and an other $50 for each
of the 25 laps led. Mystery position money will also be paid for the
mid-season championship night program and Robison Truck ing will
award $200 to the Modified driver improving the most positions from
start to finish.
The top two drivers in lo cal point standings and two pre vious race
winners who do not qualify through their heat or “B” races will
receive provisional starts.
Other sanctioned classes on the evening card include the Karl
Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts.
The Modified winner will be added to the ballot for IMCA’s 2010 Fast
Shafts All-Star Invi tational. All applicable points will be awarded
in the IMCA divisions.
Pit gates and the grandstand open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 5:30
p.m. and racing to follow.
Grandstand admission is $9 for adults and $4 for kids 6-13, with five
and under admitted free. Pit passes are $20.
