Corona, CA (June 2, 2009) - Officials of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series have announced that until further notice, the Hoosier Racing Tires LM40, and Ribbed 1600 tires will not be allowed in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Competition.
Until these tires are re-instated for competition, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tire rule will be as follows; Hoosier Racing Tires 1300, 1350, Square Block 1600, and Shoulder Plated D55 along with the American Racer SD44, SD48, MD56.
We're not really sure the motivation behind the rule change or how many racers it will effect. We just hope Lucas isn't gradually eliminating tires to go to a spec tire route. One of the best things about big time dirt late model racing is the lack of rules!
