We will be exploring the phenominon of youth in racing in the near future. We would really like your opinion about youngsters driving race cars and how young is too young. Should parents be more concerned about their childrens safety?
Some would say that putting a 14 year old in a 700 HP dirt late model or sprint car is like letting them rock climb without a rope. The dangers are there no doubt. What responsibility does society have to manage this trend? We don't let kids under 15 drive, or fly airplanes, or own guns, or many other activities that not only endanger the child, but those around them.
Let us know how you feel. Is it OK for parents to allow or even push their kids into a dangerous sport at a very early age? We need your input on this one. Write and let us know how you feel. Encourage others to pipe in. This is getting to be a concern in this industry.
