So we did with the help of our pit crew and when we did it revealed a serious problem. While we had planned on freshening the engine of our racecar, that was going to happen after this season. Well, this is racing and plans can often change in a matter of minutes. That's exactly what happened. When we pulled the header off, we noticed that the gasket had blown through in one spot but what was worse appeared in the left front exhaust port. The was no way the valve could seat properly because of a small pit in the exhaust port. Work needs to be done on this head and with just four weeks until our first race, we're running out of time. We decided to pull the motor right then and there. At least it will make relocating the upper control arms to a different position easier. Off to work.
